Are you like most of our customers? Investing hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars to make your vacation rental welcoming and hospitable. You make yourself available at a moment’s notice. You leave little treats prior to guest’s arrival. You give tips and advice on restaurants and activities from your extensive local knowledge.
But you’re not as booked as you’d like to be, right?
Obviously there are a lot of factors that have an impact - competition, pricing, reviews, local regulations, etc.
But one factor that gets overlooked all too often is the quality of your listing photos. Don't underestimate their importance to your success. They are critical.
Most people don't know how to get guests, so they focus on what to do after they get them.
Your photos are your first impression.
Get them wrong and no one clicks on your listing. That means all of your fantastic hosting expertise goes to waste.
Worse still, mediocre photos undermine potential guest’s trust in you as a host. Unfair as it may be, they ask themselves: “What else might this host be missing? Will they be responsive? Reliable?"
Get them right and you not only have their attention, you’ve earned their trust. When the viewer sees that you've nailed this crucial aspect, they'll see you as a top-notch host in other ways too.
One study showed an increase in bookings of 98% from one year to the next, just from the photos being improved.
Five years ago, no one was advocating that hosts could or should “be their own pro”. The expectation was that it would be expensive (lots of equipment!) and time-consuming (the training!).
Today, it’s a different story. Smartphone cameras have evolved dramatically. But it was never about the camera. It’s always been about the knowledge of the person holding it.
Kati has honed her “eye” for recognizing and creating attractive images, working as a video editor and colorist in Hollywood on projects for Fox, Disney, and HGTV.
How much difference can great photos make? You tell us.
Kati has taken everything that you MIGHT benefit from knowing about photography, and distilled it down to the 20% that you NEED to know. And luckily, that 20% can be taught in just a few hours.
We have designed this course to require a maximum of 8-10 hours of your time. That includes Kati’s video instruction (3hrs 45min), preparation (both thinking time, as well as staging), the actual photo session(s) and editing. You may be able to do it in as few as 5 hours or less.
